Self-entitlement Celtic-style
Can we get back to being Celtic supporters faithful through and through?
I did a piece last week on Christmas because I get sick to fuck of the “look at me” brigade.

I then talked about how the game on Sunday was dangerous and outlined why.

I’d like to thank all those self-absorbed idiots for proving me right since then.
I used to get accused of being negative all the time. It started in the very early 90s as Celtic disintegrated before our eyes and I knew what I was watching was utter shite.
Cut to like seven years ago and I used to say the club hung on a Brendan Rodgers thread. As trophies rolled in, loads were blind to it and when it did go tits up in 2020/21, some bunkered down and have never spoken to me again.
I love Celtic and when you really love something you always see its flaws. I also don’t believe in positivity and negativity just reality.
That’s me.
Yesterday wasn’t great. As soon as I saw our team I had a feeling that the game might be one too many for us and combining that with a pretty turgid performance, I will take the point.
Sometimes I think a lot of our fans don’t get how we are perceived by outsiders. They can’t believe we have anything to moan about and I totally get that.
As of today, we have won three trophies in 2024, are nine points clear in the league and have nine points in the Champions League whilst only having lost two games in the calendar year so far.
That’s pretty good going.
We have no divine right to win any game never mind every game and need the hunger and desire in each and every one we play.
Why I am much happier about Celtic in recent times is down to the fact that Brendan Rodgers has full control of the football department. Further evidence of this came last Tuesday when he flew to Dublin with Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay to see Dermot Desmond to talk signings and, whisper it, a contract extension.
You’ll notice the obvious omission of one name.
That was always my gripe, one man had far too much on control and it was to our detriment.
Yesterday was a blip. I saw five players on that pitch at various times that I would have out the door in January.
Yeah I’m happy just now. Loads weren’t last night and I think they need to step back and look the big picture.
Having supported Celtic for 50 years, I feel confident in saying this a golden era and we should be thankful not frothing.
